Expanding the Fluorescence Toolbox

Research in the Cosa group involves the development of fluorescence-based methodologies to study complex systems. The integrating element in our research program is the exploitation of microscopy, photophysics, photochemistry, and organic chemistry, towards imaging processes at the cellular or molecular level with enhanced sensitivity and specificity. To learn more about the exciting research ongoing in the group, please consult our Research page.

A Sandbox for Discovery

Our research takes place in the heart of the downtown Montreal, in the historic Pulp and Paper Building. Our labs are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment for performing single molecule spectroscopy, organic synthesis, super resolution imaging, fluorescence measurements, and much more. Latest Publication

In our latest publications in J. Am. Chem. Soc. we present two new imidazole thiol biomolecules as photostabilizers to extend the lifetime of cyanine dyes to be used on single molecule fluorescence microscopy studies.
