I was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, but moved to Monterrey to do my bachelor in chemistry at Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM). During my studies I did a summer internship at Laval University (Quebec, Canada), and also worked in an industry-academy project. I worked at IPICYT in strontium titanate for water splitting under the supervision of Dr. Vicente Gonzalez for my bachelor thesis. After getting my B.Sc., I took a gap year to be a high school science teacher to explore my passion in education. I’m currently a PhD student at Cosa Lab in McGill University where I work with fluorescent probes studying and improving their mechanism. Outside the lab I enjoy watching series and movies, love reading and writing. From time to time I go to hikes to enjoy nature and remember the wonders of the world.
